WHS students toured Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College today!
Those that toured Northwest Tech were excited to see the automotive shop and engines.
Students that toured BSU were invited into Dr. Katie Peterson's Chemistry lab and conducted experiments, while learning about becoming STEM scholars.
We ran into WHS alumni, Kate Johnson, on campus at BSU, too!

After more than a month researching, creating, and collaborating Mrs. Marvin's seniors presented their multi-genre research projects in a public exhibition of student work. Students researched on a variety of topics from Taylor Swift to eating disorders to mythology in Finland...and everything in between. It was an impressive display of hard work and lots of learning!

On Monday 8th grade FCS students held a mock career fair to showcase their learning this first trimester. Excellent work - looks like some bright futures in fun careers!

Next week Tuesday, Nov. 28th the "Smokie Hill" drum singers with be visiting Warroad School to perform traditional drum singing presentations for all of our students and staff. We welcome all community members as well to this wonderful performance to help us close out celebrating Native American Heritage month here at Warroad School.

If you said yes to all of those questions, you could be eligible for a scholarship! The Dorrance H. Johnston Scholarship for Engineering, hosted by the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, is looking for applicants for a $5,000 scholarship award. The scholarship pay-out comes to students as they are entering their final year in college. The application is open now until November 30, 2023. A short essay and one letter of recommendation is required to submit your application.

The 8th Grade FCS Learners will be hosting a Mock Career Fair to share their learning related to the MN Career Wheel and various careers. This will be held in the gym on Monday, 11/20 from 12:30-1:30, and is open to other classes and the public - please join us!
Katie Jo Olafson was a faithful Warrior that passed away in 2000. Her family created the Katie Jo Olafson fund in her memory. Katie Jo liked to cheer for the underdog and look out for those needing a friend. Her parents, Joe and Joan, recently authorized disbursement of funds to help students in classrooms with over $2000 worth of educational supplemental supplies purchased.They recognize that many teachers are spending their own money for "extras".
