"ROCK YOUR MOCS" next week Wednesday, Nov. 15th to Honor Native American Heritage Month!
A positive opportunity to be united and celebrate tribal individuality by wearing moccasins. We honor our ancestors, and indigenous peoples worldwide, during this Rock Your Mocs event and to commemorate National Native American Heritage Month.
Last month, senior Keaton Haggan hosted a Roseau & Warroad senior boys volleyball game to raise funds for two community members battling cancer- Della Knutson & Tammy Brateng. Warroad beat Roseau, but the Warriors unanimously decided to split the $3,200 in donations evenly.
Congratulations to Sophie Johnson and Carson Pilgrim! These two seniors will continue their hockey career next year at the collegiate level! Sophie will be a Saint and Carson will be a Hawk! Go Warriors!
Over the past month the IT Department has been hard at work on the first Elementary classroom instructional technology upgrade since 2008! This upgrade is replacing old projector based smart boards with 75" Promethean 4K interactive touch screens. Last week we capped off the project by making a trip up to the NW Angle School. The kids sure seemed excited!
1. Great news! A new scholarship program is being started by a WHS Alumnus. This scholarship can be renewed up to four years and is targeted towards first generation college students (if your parents did not attend college). This scholarship will be available as part of the NMF Foundation scholarship application and due on April 15th, 2024.
2. Seniors- Don't forget to sign up in the counseling area for the College Admission drawing! Winners will be drawn on Tuesday, November 7th. If you have finished a college application, enter your name!
3. Today, November 3rd is the last day for regular ACT registration for the December test in Warroad. Register at www.act.org
4. BSU and UMC representatives will be visiting WHS on Thursday, November 8th at 10:00.
5. The William & Margaret Marvin scholarship application release has been pushed back. Good news though! They are separating out the application process between two-year and four-year school applicants. The application process will be significantly shortened for 2-year applicants. Applications will still be due at the end of February, 2024. Four-year applicants will still need a minimum of 100 community service hours, more if you want to be competitive.
3rd grade wrapped up their learning about the life cycle, animals, and habitats with these great projects that are a fun mix of life science, read & writing, and being creative!

The ASVAB will be offered in Warroad on November 2nd at 8:30 in the theater. We are asking all JUNIOR to take this test. It is free of charge and used as a Career Aptitude test for future Career planning, it is also to determine placement in the military.
We are asking all juniors to take this test as a Career Assessment planning tool. Scores can also be interpreted as an ACT equivalent to give students an idea on what their scores would translate to on that test.
